RunLead Badge

RunLead Badge, by the Road Runners Club of America, has four primary education goals:

  1. Provide knowledge to people interested in being a community-based RunLead, run mentor, or pace group leader.  
  2. Provide education for organized groups in need of trained RunLeads, mentors, and pace group leaders.
  3. Provide an overview of safety concepts for managing run groups, including managing group dynamics, behaviors, inclusivity, and more.
  4. Provide background knowledge to inspire RunLead badge holders to take the next step and become an RRCA Certified Coach.
  • Level: Beginner
  • Duration: Approx. 2 hours to complete the program, quiz, and earn the RunLead Badge

Beofra Butler
RRCA Coaching Course Instructor

Beofra "Bee" Butler earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Human Services and Life Coaching. She has been a community run leader for more than 30 years. While serving in the military for 28 years, she has completed races in every distance from the 5K to 100-miler. She has run more than 112 marathons. Bee is an instructor with the RRCA Coaching Certification Program.

Randy Accetta, PhD
RRCA Director of Coaching Education

Randy Accetta, PhD, is an accomplished educator and runner, bringing a wealth of experience to the RRCA coaching program. He's led a coaching group since 1997, working with all types of runners from novices through Olympic Trials athletes. As the RRCA Director of Coaching Education since 2012, he's helped over 10,000 people gain their RRCA Coaching Certification. He's earned numerous teaching and writing awards for in-person and online education at the University of Arizona.
